Prosecutors: Alum killed Marriott in Dover apartment

Elizabeth “Lizzi” Marriott, a sophomore at UNH, was strangled and/or suffocated in the Dover apartment of Seth Mazzaglia, 29, Tuesday, Oct. 9, according to the second-degree murder complaint filed against Mazzaglia. According to Assistant N.H. Attorney General Jane Young, Mazzaglia’s apartment is located at 1 Mill St. Full story

  • UNH professor and recent graduate take voting awareness to new level

    Eman Pahlevani was a student of Albert “Buzz” Scherr. Last spring, while he was in Scherr’s Criminal Procedure class, an application development company that Pahlevani and his brother founded released a smartphone app called CrimePush. The idea of the app was to allow those who were observing crimes as they were occurring to, with the push of a button, report the crime to the local police department.

  • Clinton aims speech towards student concerns

    Former President Bill Clinton aimed to appeal to the student voters in attendance Wednesday afternoon, touching upon student loans, health care laws and the importance of voting. Clinton’s visit to campus served as a promotion stop for President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign.

  • Kaplan’s break through

    The UNH defense came out strong in last week’s win over the Delaware Blue Hens with a final score of 34-14. Defensive back Manny Asam led the team with 11 total tackles as well as 1.5 sacks in the game.  The defense gave up only 234 yards and two touchdowns in the game.

    UNH students and faculty performed the ninth production of “Inner Beauty…Love Your Body, Ease Your Mind” on Wednesday as part of the MUB’s Current Issues Lecture Series. “Inner Beauty” (formerly known as “The Mind/Body Dialogues”) is meant to inform and educate the audience about eating, body image issues and recovery through reading various poems, memoirs and personal narratives by individuals who have struggled with their body or who are on the road to recovery.
