How to: View the 3D structure of a protein
Starting with...
A PDB CODE (e.g. 1B8G)
- Go to the Structure Home Page.
- Enter the PDB code in the search box and press the Go button.
- Click the structure image, and on the resulting page click the "Structure View in Cn3D" button.
A PDB-FORMAT FILE THAT IS NOT IN PDB
- Go to the VAST search page.
- Enter or browse for the PDB file name and click the Submit button.
- Click the "View 3D Structure" button on the next page.
A PROTEIN ACCESSION NUMBER (e.g. NP_000240) OR SEQUENCE
- Use the Finding a Structural Template guide to find the most appropriate PDB structure.
- Continue with step 1 under "a PDB code" above.
