 Download Template

The dbMHC is now accepting MHC region microsatellite submissions.  The minimum submission requirement includes:
  1. Contact information of the submitter.
  2. A name for the marker.
  3. The full sequence of the forward and reverse primers OR the UNISTS ID
The following additional information that is recommended but not required:
  1. The laboratory protocol(s) in which the primers are used.
  2. Known allele size range (PCR product range in base pairs.)
  3. Any known aliases for the targeted repeat region.
  4. An exemplar sequence (DDBJ, EMBL, or Genbank accession) containing the primer sequence of one primer and the reverse complement of the other.
Future submissions will allow users to submit laboratory protocols, allele frequencies, genotypes, and associated samples.  Click here for the submission template.  Send submissions to

  Background

This tool is designed for searching descriptive information for some of the known short tandem repeats within the MHC.  The original data is available in the publication:
, Mano S., Barnetche T., Carrington M., Inoko H. &  (2004) Integration of microsatellite characteristics in the MHC region: a literature and sequence based analysis.  Tissue Antigens, 64, 543.  PubMed ID 15496197.
