Ordering Online

How do I place an order?
To place an order online, simply follow these steps:
  1. Find an item that interests you.
  2. Click the Add to Cart button on any item's product description page. The Shopping Cart at top right shows you how many items you have in your cart. Clicking the cart will take you to your Shopping Cart page.
  3. When you've finished adding items to your Shopping Cart, click the Proceed to Checkout button.
  4. You will be prompted for your contact and shipping information.
Note: You can create an account if you wish, or check out as a Guest.
Why do some items have limits?
So that SAMHSA can serve as many members of the public as possible, we place limits on an item due to limited availability.
What if I need more than the limit?
If there is a limit on an item, it is possible to submit a request for a quantity over the limit. Simply enter the quantity you would like when adding it to your cart or update the quantity in your cart, and you will be prompted for additional information when checking out. A customer service representative will review your request and if possible approve the higher quantity. In cases where supply is limited, SAMHSA reserves the right to ship less than the amount requested.
Why am I asked for a street address rather than a P.O. Box?
Expedited orders are shipped Fed Ex, and Fed Ex does not deliver to P.O. Boxes. Small orders fewer than 3-4 lbs are sent U.S. Mail and can be shipped to a P.O. Box.
How much is standard shipping?
When you order from SAMHSA's online store, standard shipping is provided free of charge to all U.S. states and territories. Please note:
  • Shipments may be sent via Federal Express or through the U.S. Postal Service.
  • Standard shipping also covers delivery to Rural Routes, APO, and FPO addresses.
  • Allow from 7 to 10 business days for delivery within the continental United States.
  • Standard delivery does not include delivery on Sunday or holidays.
How long will my order take to arrive?
Most orders shipped within the continental US should arrive within 2-4 weeks (from the date Ordered). Orders (outside the continental US) to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, etc., ship U.S. Mail and could take 4 to 6 weeks to arrive.
Can I have my order expedited?
Yes. Orders can be shipped via Federal Express provided you are willing to pay for the shipping. Expedited orders can be placed on the web or over the phone by calling 1-877-SAMHSA7 and speaking with an Information Specialist. You may use a Fed Ex corporate account if you wish; please have your Fed Ex account number ready when calling.
All orders placed after 11:00 a.m. EST/EDT will be processed the following business day. Orders placed over the weekend will be processed the following business day.
Note: Expedited packages cannot be delivered to a P.O. Box. You must provide a street address.
The item I want to order is out of stock. Will it be available again?
Although every effort is made to maintain an adequate inventory of each resource, unforeseen demand may exhaust supplies. Future printings are at the discretion of SAMHSA. If you are a registered user and wish to be notified via email when an item is back in stock, sign in to your account and look for a link on the product’s page. You will be prompted to enter your email address to receive an alert when the item is back in stock.

We hope that making our data and taxonomy available will be of use to the Behavioral Health and developer communities. If you do use our data or taxonomy on your website or within an application, please let us know. If you have questions or suggestions for SAMHSA, please Contact Us.
