    • "Persons were asked to report whether they sometimes or always spoke a language other than English at home. " It would be Deaf-friendly to ask "Do you and your family communicate fluently in a language other than English at home?" It is Audist to say only spoken languages count, as American Sign Language is a recognized legitimate language SIGNED not spoken within the Unite States of America, and has existed here over a century and a half. Please include all Deaf Americans and their Hearing family members who communicate in ASL not spoken English. Thank you. Kat Poland Hard of Hearing and proud Gallaudet University student
