The National Security Agency Web site (NSA.GOV) is provided as a public service by the National Security Agency. NSA is committed to protecting your privacy and will collect no personal information about you unless you choose to provide that information to us.

Browsing the National Security Agency Web site

The contents of this Web site may be browsed anonymously. The National Security Agency Web site automatically logs visitor information concerning the pages read, photographs viewed, and information downloaded for statistical purposes. This information does not identify you personally. The information gathered helps us to assess the content most interesting to visitors and to determine technical design specifications for identifying system performance issues. The following represents the types of information automatically collected and stored about your visit:

  • The Internet Domain and Internet Protocol (IP) address from which you access our Web site;

If you submit a resume online

The authority for collecting information on this form is contained in 10 U.S.C. §§ 1601-1614, 50 U.S.C. §§ 402 note, and 50 U.S.C. §§ 831-835; Executive Orders 10450 and 12333; DCID 6/4; and DOD Directive 5100.23. NSA's Blanket Routine Uses found at 58 Fed. Reg. 10,531 (1993) as well as the specific uses found in GNSA02, GNSA03, GNSA05, GNSA08, GNSA09, and GNSA10 apply to this information. Authority for requesting your Social Security Number (SSN) is Executive Order 9397. The requested information will be used to determine your skills and experience, as well as your security eligibility for employment with the National Security Agency. To be considered for employment or assignment with the Agency, your disclosure of requested information, including your SSN, is mandatory. Failure to provide the requested information may result in processing delays, delay the Agency in making an employment decision, or any decision at all, regarding your security eligibility or suitability for employment or assignment with the Agency.

Privacy Act Statement:

Authorities: 50 U.S.C. 403-4; 50 U.S.C. 403-4a (d); 50 U.S.C 403a-5

Principal Uses: Information collected via the NSA Web site is used to: 1) process employment applications from individuals who choose to submit their resumes through NSA's online resume form; 2) provide e-mail notifications of substantive updates to the NSA Web site to subscribers who request this service; and 3) provide information in response to comments or questions when a response is requested by the person submitting the comment or question.

In accordance with Section 15 of the NSA Act of 1959, as amended, (50 U.S.C. 402 note) no one may use, without permission from the NSA/CSS the words 'National Security Agency', the initials, or seal of the National Security Agency in connection with any commercial activity or in a manner intended to convey the impression that such use is approved, or authorized by the National Security Agency.

Cookies

Kids' Page: Notice for Parents

The National Security Agency has established a kids' page in compliance with the President's April 18, Memorandum for Heads of Executive Departments and Agencies, Subject: Expanding Access to Internet-based Educational Resources for Children, Teachers and Parents. The Child Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires NSA to obtain parental consent before it collects personally identifiable data from children under 13. Children under 13 must get approval from a parent or guardian before submitting questions or comments via this computer system.
