Lewis, Wash., configure their Stryker Infantry Carrier Vehicle (ICV) after off loading it from a C-130 Hercules during a demonstration Oct. 16 at Andrews Air Force Base, Md. This C-130, assigned to the Kentucky Air National Guard's 165th Airlift Squadron, along with a C-17 Globemaster aircraft, participated in the exercise, serving to highlight the Air Force's capability to deploy Stryker in the most austere locations in support of Combatant Commanders around the world. Senior DoD and Congressional leaders witnessed the joint combat capabilities exercise. The Stryker is an integral part of the Army's effort to transform into a more strategically responsive force, and fulfills an immediate requirement to provide Combatant Commanders with a primary combat and combat support platform.
