Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS)
A Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is a locally administered, electronic data collection system that stores longitudinal person-level information about
persons who access the homeless service system. It was developed by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and all HUD grantees are required to use HMIS. While PATH programs are not currently required to use HMIS, many PATH programs have access to HMIS through their continnuums of care and are using HMIS to track data on their programs.

The resources listed below provide more information about HMIS, how to implement HMIS, and tips for enhancing data collection and data quality.
