Our insurance programs were developed to provide insurance benefits for veterans and service members who may not be able to get insurance from private companies because of the extra risks involved in military service, or a service connected disability.

eBenefits is a joint VA/DOD website that provides Veterans and Service Members with safe, secure access to many self-service features, including applying online for VA benefits such as VA Compensation and Pension and Veterans Group Life Insurance.

To obtain a Premium Account and be able to use all of the features available on eBenefits, choose the option that applies to you and register at www.ebenefits.va.gov:

  • Service Members, Veteran DoD Employees or Contractors – use your CAC to register
  • Retirees – use your myPay account to register
  • Veterans – visit your regional office to register in person

Losses to the Genitourinary System Now Covered by SGLI Traumatic Injury Protection

  • VA has amended its regulations to add certain genitourinary injuries to the Schedule of Covered Losses under the Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance Traumatic Injury Protection Program, or TSGLI.  

Public Law 111-275 Improves VA Insurance Programs

  • Extends traumatic injury coverage to service members injured between Oct. 7, 2001 and November 30, 2005, regardless of where their injury occurred
  • Allows Veterans’ Group Life Insurance insureds to purchase additional coverage on each 5-year anniversary of their coverage
