HHS Section 508 Training

The HHS Policy for Section 508 Electronic and Information Technology (EIT) establishes the guidance for implementing Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, throughout HHS.

Phase III attendees must take the Phase I online course (if they have not taken it before) prior to attending the Phase III session.

HHS Employees can access the Phase I training course on the HHS Intranet.

The trainings offered are:

Phase II Basic Training – for staff involved in occasional contracting for technology products and services [including accessible communications products and electronic documents]

Testing Document Accessibility – for HHS staff that receive documents and others needing to know HHS requirements

Creating Accessible Word Documents and Email, Level I – for document authors and editors

Creating Accessible PDF Documents, Level I – second in the courses for document authors and editors

*NEW* Creating Accessible PDF Documents, Level II – third in the courses for document authors and editors

*NEW* Creating Accessible PowerPoint Documents – for presenters and others building PowerPoint documents

*NEW* Creating Accessible Excel Documents – for staff and contractors constructing Excel documents for internal use.
