Audiology

Audiology services and prosthetics are provided at the Cheyenne VA. Audiology testing is also available at the Fort Collins Community Based Outreach Center.

Chemotherapy Infusion Clinic

Chemotherapy is available on both an inpatient and outpatient basis at the Cheyenne VA. Because of the special nature of this clinic, referrals are made by primary care and specialty care providers.

Cardiopulmonary & Neurology Services

Cardiopulmonary and Neurology Services are provided at the Cheyenne VA. Consultations for this care are also available from from CBOC's. Patients who have a Cardiopulmonary or Neurology consult will need to travel to the Cheyenne VA campus. Learn more about the Cardiopulmonary and Neurology Service here.

Chaplain and Religious Services

Chaplains are available to assist patients and their family members through all phases of outpatient treatment, hospital stays, and extended care. Read more about chaplain and religious services. For those interested, there are also several opportunities to volunteer with Chaplain Services. Clinical Psychology & Psychiatry

Mental health care is available at the Cheyenne VA, the Fort Collins Community Based Outreach Center and the Greeley Community Based Outreach Center.

Community Living Center

Our Community Living Center (CLC)  unit provides hospice, long term and acute rehab care. For more information about eligibility and availability into the Cheyenne VA's "Old Glory Community Living Center," contact social work at the Cheyenne VA.

Endoscopy Suite

The Endoscopy Suite at the Cheyenne VA campus offers endoscopy, cystoscopy, Pain and Acupuncture procedures. All services are on a referral basis from a primary care provider.


ENT Clinic

The Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic is held at the Cheyenne VAMC on Monday, Wednesday and some Thursdays. This clinic is available on a referral basis from your primary care provider.

Eye Care

All veterans are eligible for eye exams and eyeglasses. Ophthalmology services are offered at the Cheyenne VAMC as well as the Fort Collins Community Based Outreach Clinic. Optometry services are offered at the Cheyenne VAMC.

Home Based Primary Care

Home based primary care is offered for patients meeting the required criteria and who have been referred by their primary care provider. Monitoring and limited care is provided in the home by an interdisciplinary team assigned to care for the veteran.

Home TeleHealth Program

The unit will ask you preprogrammed questions regarding your specific health issue.  It will transmit your answers later through a toll free number to an internet file accessible to VA staff to monitor the next day.

Laboratory

The Cheyenne VAMC Pathology and Laboratory is a CAP and FDA accredited laboratory.  It is a full service 24 hour a day 7 day a week operation. We also are the parent lab to the Mobile Clinic as well as the clinics in Fort Collins CO, Greeley CO, Rawlins WY, Sidney NE, Sterling CO, and Laramie WY. These sites have limited on site lab service, but do collect specimens to be sent to the Cheyenne Lab. 

The Cheyenne VAMC Path and Lab outpatient service is available M-F 07:30am- 04:30pm MST.  If you have fasting labs, you can drink water or black coffee.  Please take you medications as directed.  If you need to mail in specimens the address is as follows  PMLS Laboratory (113)  Cheyenne VAMC, 2360 east Pershing Blvd., Cheyenne WY, 82001.  If you need to contact the laboratory call 307-778-7550.

Medicine Service

The medicine service at the Cheyenne VAMC provides care in several different areas including general medicine, specialty programs as well as diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Additionally, inpatient care is provided for palliative & hospice care. View the complete list of specific care provided in these categories here.


Intermediate Medicine

Intermediate medicine is for inpatients who require longer than typical stays. This service is available at the Cheyenne facility.


Mental Health

Our mental health program provides consultation, evaluation, and treatment for a variety of issues that can impact emotional well-being. Read more about our mental health program.


MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

Cheyenne VAMC offers MRI services on request from your primary care provider or on request from one of the specialty clinic providers. For scheduling, please contact the Radiology Department.

Mobile Tele-Healh Clinic

The Cheyenne VA’s Mobile Telehealth Clinic allows you to take advantage of receiving high quality healthcare services closer to your home. The Mobile Telehealth Clinic has regularly scheduled clinics in Sterling, CO as well as in Wheatland, Torrington and Laramie, WY.

Primary services of the Mobile Telehealth Clinic includes Primary Care and Mental Health Clinics to Veterans in the rural areas within the service area of the Cheyenne VAMC.

The Mobile Telehealth Clinic will not operate during hazardous weather conditions. In the event of regional weather that may impact highway conditions, listen to local radio stations for the status of the day’s Mobile Telehealth Clinical appointments or call 1-888-483-9127, ext. 3816.

Nutrition and Food

Outpatient Nutrition Education is available by a Registered Dietitian. Education is provided in both group and individual settings. Veterans who would like this service can "self - refer" or have a physician referral.

OEF/OIF Program

Cheyenne VAMC provides outreach activities in support of returning combat veterans. The Cheyenne VAMC OEF/OIF Program is a part of the Wyoming Veterans Coalition, a group composed of several federal, state and local agencies and organizations.

The members of the coalition are bound by the common goal to increase communication and collaboration among organizations serving Wyoming veterans and to improve veteran's access to information and benefits. Pharmacy

Our pharmacy processes thousands of prescriptions daily. Prescriptions may be refilled by mail, phone, or online. Read more about our pharmacy program.

Physical Medicaine & Rehab Services

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Services includes physical therapy, occupational therapy, recreational therapy, speech language pathology, and audiology. We provide care in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including our Community Living Center for rehabilitation and long term care. Read more about all of these services here.

Podiatry

Podiatry services are offered at they Cheyenne VAMC and the Greeley Community Based Outreach Clinics. Nail care services are offered at both the Greeley and the Ft. Collins CBOC and at our main facility in Cheyenne.

Primary Care - Mental Health Intergration

Consistent with the principles of the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) and to assist primary care providers with the treatment of mental health  concerns in the primary care area, he  Primary Care-Mental Health Integration program oversees the  implementation  of co-located, collaborative care  delivery in the primary care area.

All veterans seeking support for mental health concerns are eligible for care within the PACT team.  Those needing higher levels of support are referred to specialty mental health services.  For more information on Cheyenne VA's PACT program and the Primary Care-Mental Health Integration program, call Gayle Carter, RN at 307-778-7349.

Prosthetics

The mission of the Prosthetic & Sensory Aids Service (PSAS) is to provide comprehensive support to optimize health and independence of the Veteran.  Our vision is to be the premier source of prosthetic and orthotic services, sensory aids, medical equipment, and support services for Veterans.  Learn more about the PSAS at Cheyenne VAMC.

Surgery, General and Orthopedic

General Surgery is offered at the Cheyenne VAMC. Orthopedic surgery, including total joint replacement and arthroscopic surgery, is also offered at the Cheyenne VAMC.

Women's Health
