AFC 1941/001: Vance Randolph Collection
The Vance Randolph Collection documents aspects of Ozark life in the early 1940s. Randolph made field recordings of folksongs and collected stories of life in the Ozarks. The collection includes 213 graphic images and 190 discs containing songs, instrumentals, and tales from the Ozark Mountain region, recorded by Vance Randolph, 1941-1942. In addition to the material obtained in the field, Randolph accumulated an extensive number of newspaper clippings on a wide variety of subjects relating to the Ozarks, including local legends, history, language, and sporting activities. Four 16-inch discs of an interview with 92-year old Martha L. Smith, originally of of Benton County, Missouri. Smith is the author of a book about Missouri life entitled Going to God's Country. AFC 1986/022: Center for Applied Linguistics Collection
Fifty-nine 10-inch tapes of speech samples, linguistic interviews, oral histories, conversations, and excerpts from public speeches recorded at various locations in North America by various collectors, and compiled by the Center for Applied Linguistics for a project entitled "A Survey and Collection of American English Dialect Recordings." The collection includes fourteen linear inches of documentation, including an introduction and preface, a list of contents, content summaries, and transcripts. AFC 1990/015: David Adler Cultural Center / "In the Tradition" Concert Series
Eleven videocassettes of interviews and concert footage from the "In the Tradition" concert series featuring eleven programs produced by the David Adler Cultural Center with support from the National Endowment for the Arts, Libertyville Rotary Club, and the Illinois Arts Council. The performances showcase various traditions including blues, Irish, Scandinavian, and Middle Eastern songs, as well as fiddling and ballads from Missouri and Indiana. Recorded in Libertyville, Illinois at the Libertyville High School Studio Theater, 1989. The collection includes 18 pages of concert fliers and descriptions of each performer and performance. Some performers featured on separate video programs performed together in concerts.

AFC 1996/034: Missouri Folklore Society / Tribute to R. P. Christeson
Photos are of R.P. Christeson taken from the 1950s-1980s, and showing him recording a square dance, working at his typewriter, etc. The audiocassette contains a tribute to Christeson which was presented at the 1992 annual meeting of the Missouri Folklore Society in Hermann, Missouri, on September 26, 1992. Speakers included Dolf Schroeder, Howard W. Marshall, and Gordon McCann. Also includes musical performances by the Loonig Family (German band), Tom Schroeder, Emily and Dennis Buckhannon, and Judy Domeny. The MFS Newsletter contains an obituary of R.P. Christeson.
AFC 1997/011: Lands' End All-American Quilt Collection
Lands' End in cooperation with Good Housekeeping magazine sponsored quilt contests in 1992, 1994, and 1996. The collection,housed in 154 boxes, consists of visual images, entry blanks, and essays written by entrants, as well as Lands End administrative files and correspondence pertinent to the promotion of the contest. Approximately 13,100 entries for the three contests came from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. AFC 1998/017: Rosemary Killam / Lyddie F. Hubark Songbook Collection
Photocopy of a handwritten manuscript entitled "Songbook" by Lyddie F. Hubark of Rombauer, Missouri, containing the lyrics for 32 popular American folksongs and ballads. Written ca. 1932, it was copied in 1992 from the original belonging to Hubark's nephew, the late Charles O. Ferris, of Gutler County, Missouri. It is accompanied by a 76-page transcription of the songs prepared by Killam. An additional 2003 gift includes a second, cleaner copy of the ballad book, two print outs of transcriptions, a paper given by Killam at the 2003 International Ballad Conference, and an audiocassette of Professor Clyde Faries singing ballads from the ballad book.
AFC 2000/001: Local Legacies Collection
Four hundred and five linear feet (approximately 90,000 manuscript pages, 475 sound recordings, 13,270 graphic materials, 335 electronic media, and 75 artifacts) of documentation of local festivals, fairs, parades, and other community-based events from each U.S. state, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories and trusts. The Local Legacies Collection was donated through the efforts of individuals, organizations, and institutions asked to participate by members of Congress. AFC 2000/004: Mac McKeever / 1994 Contra Dance Survey
In 1994, Mac McKeever, president of the Childgrove Country Dancers of St. Louis, Missouri, surveyed contra dance groups around the U.S. regarding their organizational structure, income and expense patterns, frequency of meeting, and so on. With McKeever's permission, Owen Kelley made a photocopy of the materials which he has donated to the Archive.

AFC 2006/013: Northeast Missouri Folk Symposium Collection
Materials from the March 25, 2006, Northeast Missouri Folk Symposium, held at Truman University in Kirksville, Missouri. The collection includes audio and video recordings of fiddling workshops, oral history sessions based on StoryCorps techniques (including one interview with a World War II veteran), and other symposium events.
AFC 2007/018: Don Hill and David Mangurian Collection of Tape Recordings
Original analog tapes and digitized copies of the tapes, representing over 40 hours of original field recordings made between 1958 and 1961 in Baltimore, Maryland; Clarksdale, Mississippi; Chicago, Illinois; Delaney, Arkansas; Los Angeles, California; Nashville, Tennessee; New Orleans, Louisiana; New York, New York; St. Louis, Missouri, and in Northern Georgia. The recordings comprise 724 songs and interviews with 20 of the musicians (including 12 blues and street singers).
AFC 2008/021: Raymond Rice Collection of the Songs of Benjamin Franklin Rice
Photocopies of manuscript typed by Mabel Leora Rice in the mid-1930s, annotated by David Rice, Sr. (son of Benjamin Rice). Benjamin Rice was one of the singers recorded by Sidney Robertson in Springfield, Missouri, in 1936 (see 30 entries on AFS 3207ff). Some Ben Rice material was incorporated into the "California Gold" on-line presentation, based on Robertson's use of the material in California. Also a CD copy of early recordings by Benjamin Rice, David Rice, and Raymond Rice (grandfather, father, son).
