A MINUTE OF HEALTH WITH CDC
Autism Awareness
Autism Awareness Month — April 2011
Recorded: April 19, 2011; posted: April 21, 2011

This program is presented by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. CDC — safer, healthier people.

Autism is a developmental disability that affects about one in a hundred and ten children in the U.S. Identifying autism early is key to getting children the help they need to reach their full potential. Parents can help by observing if their child is reaching developmental milestones at the appropriate age.

Although there is no known cure, with help, some symptoms can improve over time. If you have concerns about your child’s development, talk with a health care provider. Don’t wait. Acting early can make a real difference.
