AFC 1948/017: Charles Pearcy Mountford Recordings of Aborigines in South Australia
Twenty-four 12-inch discs of field recordings of Aboriginal Australians recorded by Charles P. Mountford in South Australia and possibly in other locations before 1946. Manuscripts in the collection include 2 letters from Charles P. Mountford to staff at the Library of Congress (1946, undated), and printed information about the American-Australian Scientific Expedition to Arnhem Land, 1948-1949. AFC 1972/040: Richard A. Waterman collection from Arnhem Land, Australia
Thirty-one 7-inch tapes of music and stories of the aborigines from Arnhem Land, Australia, recorded by Richard A. Waterman, 1952-1953. Includes songs with didjeridu and clapping sticks. Dubbed from original tapes housed at the Archives of Traditional Music, Indiana University. The collection includes logs and articles. (LWO 7077) (AFS 15,230-15,260) [catalog record]

AFC 1974/005: College of Idaho Folklore Archive / Folklore, Music, and Oral History of the Snake River Basin
Seven 10-inch tapes of folklore and music, oral history of the Snake River Basin; ballads, songs (some humorous), recitations, narrative beliefs games from Idaho and Australia. AFC 1974/015: Don Laycock Duplication Project
Two 10-inch tapes of bawdy Australian folksongs sung by Don Laycock with comments and interviews. Recorded in Unionville, Indiana, by Joseph C. Hickerson, July 7, 1962. The collection includes a photocopy of the tape box and a 7-page song list. (LWO 7887; 2 hours, 10 minutes) [catalog record]

AFC 1978/021: Merrick Jarrett / Australia and New Zealand Songs
One 5-inch tape of 19 folksongs of Australia and New Zealand. Sung by Merrick Jarrett, Gary Muir, and Everill Muir with guitar accompaniment. Recorded pre-1978. (LWO 9973) (AFS 19,237)

AFC 1983/027: John Q. Anderson Collection
Fourteen 10-inch tapes of lectures, interviews, and performances of Civil War, frontier, slave and Louisiana (French, creole, early jazz) folksongs and ballads (Western, American, English, Scottish); songs composed by Anderson and Everett A. Gills; live recordings of Texas Folklore Society Programs (1963-1966) with performances by John A. Lomax, Jr.; play party games arranged for the Lake Charles Ballet Society; misc. Latin American and Spanish songs; Australian gold rush songs and sea chanties. (RWA 94-107) (AFS 20,184-20,197)

AFC 1982/008: Leo H. Berman Collection of Songs and Stories of Western Australia
One audiocassette of unpublished songs and stories of Western Australia, apparently used "in the school system." Includes ballads, sea shanties, and railroad songs. Recorded pre-1982. [catalog record]

AFC 1983/014: "Percy Grainger and Folk Music" Collection
One audiocassette containing a program entitled "Percy Grainger and Folk Music" by Danny Spooner for the Australian Broadcasting Commission. Spooner (a leading Australian folk singer) compiled the program on the life of Grainger and his involvement in English folksong collecting. Recorded ca. 1980s. [catalog record]

AFC 1989/019: Ed Cray Manuscript Collection
Research materials gathered during the writing of Ed Cray's book, The Erotic Muse (two editions), manuscripts of the book itself. Some non-bawdy material (Singleton and some "Army Songs" material). Also recordings of Scottish piper James MacColl; Australian songs; and various field recordings made by Cray and/or his students. Photos of several folk revival performers.

AFC 1996/078: Martyn Wyndham-Read Promo Materials
One audiocassette of 12 Australian folksongs performed by Martyn Wyndham-Read. Recorded during live performances; also includes an interview of the Wyndham-Read by Studs Terkel. The collection includes one folder of promotional texts discussing the artist's career and recordings.

AFC 2001/021: "Sharing the Harvest" / Australian Field Recordings Collection
Two CDs of a sound recording titled "Sharing the Harvest: Field Recordings from the Meredith Collection in the National Library of Australia." Recordings made in Australia by John Meredith primarily between 1953 and 1958.

AFC 2003/027: Pete and Toshi Seeger Film Collection
Approximately 700 film and audio elements relating to Pete and Toshi Seeger's filmmaking from 1955-1965 at various locations in: Angola, Australia, Austria, Canada, England, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, New Zealand, Nigeria, Poland, Russia, Somoa, Sweden, Tanzania, Trinidad, Ukraine, and the United States. In the United States, locations include Beacon, New York; Circle Pines, Michigan; Hamilton, Ohio; Huntsville, Texas; Los Angeles, California; Madison, Wisconsin; New York, New York; Newport, Rhode Island; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Washington, DC, among others. AFC 2004/018: The sound of change : music-making by Lithuanians living in Australia, 1999 / by Jennifer Rakauskas
"The Sound of Change: Music-Making by Lithuanians Living in Australia" by Jennifer Rakauskas. A thesis submitted for the degree of Master of Arts in the Department of Archeology at the Flinders University of South Australia. November 1999. Thesis contains 1 VHS tape and 1 audiocassette. Additionally, the donation includes four 10-inch 78 rpm audio disks (shellac) with Lithuanian folk music - commercially recorded on Columbia.
