AFS 18,102-18,468: Laura Boulton Collection Part 23: Africa, Europe, Far East, Latin America, etc.
Three-hundred and forty-four 7-inch tapes, 22 5-inch tapes and 1 3-inch tape of instrumentals and songs recorded in Africa, Europe, Far East, Latin America, Middle East, Near East, North America, South America, and Southeast Asia by Laura Boulton, 1949-61. The collection includes 1/3 linear inch of articles, correspondence, and lists.

AFS 18,150-18,155: Six tapes of songs, female solos, and palace orchestra music from Cambodia. Recorded in 1950. (preservation tape LWO 8949 reels 10B1-11A3)

AFC 1981/003: Karl Signell "Asian Music in the New World" Collection
Two 10-inch tapes of "Asian Music in the New World," a radio program containing interviews of first generation Chinese, Hmong, Japanese, Khmer (Cambodian), Laotian, and Vietnamese immigrants in the United States, including music and stories about the meaning of music and how it has been "americanized." Recorded in various locations in the United States by Mary Cliff and Karl Signell at an unknown date. Broadcast on National Public Radio, October 1980; and directed, narrated, and produced by Mary Cliff and Karl Signell. This is part of National Public Radio's "Folk Festival USA" series, produced by Deborah Lamberton; and part 2 of the Karl Signell / "Music in the New World" collection. (1 hour and 28 minutes)

AFC 1983/009: 1983 Neptune Plaza Concert Series Collection
Eight black and white contact sheets, 130 color slides, 7 black and white photoprints, 13 color photoprints, thirteen 10-inch tapes, and 233 black-and-white negatives containing documentation of the 1983 Neptune Plaza Concert Series sponsored by the American Folklife Center and featuring the presentation of Armenian, bluegrass, blues, Cambodian, country blues and buck dancing, country blues fiddling, and western folk traditions. Recorded at the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C., by the American Folklife Center, April-September 1983. AFC 1983/009: RWA 5725: One 10-inch tape of four short theater pieces performed by former members of the Cambodian Royal Classical Khmer Ballet who became refugees and were relocated to Wheaton, Maryland, with narration by Rich Kennedy of the National Council for the Traditional Arts.

AFC 1983/009: Envelopes 3-5: Thirty-five color slides and 29 black-and-white negatives documenting the Khmer Classical Ballet performance photographed by John T. Gibbs.

AFC 1983/009: Folders 5-6: One black and white contact sheet photographed by John T. Gibbs, thirteen color photoprints photographed by Mr. Jasuinas and an unknown photographer (possibly Mr. Jasuinas), and 3 black-and-white photoprints photographed by John T. Gibbs and Beverly Orr documenting the Khmer Classical Ballet performance.

AFC 1987/042: Lowell Folklife Project Collection
Field project in Lowell, Massachusetts, examining the city's ethnic history and the history of their occupational lore, done in cooperation with the Lowell Historic Preservation Commission and the Massachusetts Council on the Arts and Humanities. The field data were used as the basis for the Center's "Report to the Lowell Historic Preservation Commission." The collection contains audio logs, transcripts of sound recordings, Black-and-white photograph logs, color slide logs, data from the Lowell Neighborhood Map Project, as well as fieldnotes, reports, publications and ephemera. AFC 1989/007: "'To Keep My Culture': New Immigrant Musicians in Los Angeles"
One audiocassette of "'To Keep My Culture'": New Immigrant Musicians in Los Angeles," a radio program documenting the music of recent immigrant groups in Los Angeles, including interviews with and performances of Armenian, Belizian, Cambodian, Chinese, Guatemalan, Iranian, Korean, and Mexican musicians at private and public events. Recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Helene Rosenbluth and Sara Jacobus for the Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department, 1998. The collection includes a one-page correspondence. (1 hour)

AFC 1991/009: Laura Boulton Collection Addition
Two hundred thirty-nine tapes of music, songs, and lectures recorded in Angola, Canada, China, Ethiopia, Fiji, Ghana, Guinea, Haiti, India, Japan, Malaya, Micronesia, Mozambique, Nepal, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Tahiti, Togo, Turkey, the United States, and Zaire by Laura Boulton, 1963-1984. The collection includes 5/8linear inch of correspondence and tape logs. The collection comprises a supplement to the Laura Boulton cylinder, discs, and tape collection donated by Columbia University, 1973.

AFC 1993/001: Ethnic Heritage and Language Schools in America Project Collection
Twenty-four 5-inch tapes, 60 7-inch tapes, and 288 audiocassettes from the Ethnic Heritage and Language Schools in America Project, a survey of 23 ethnic schools from 22 ethnic groups. Recorded in various locations throughout the United States by Elena Bradunas and 23 fieldworkers, April-July 1982, sponsored by the American Folklife Center. AFC 1995/031: North Dakota Council on the Arts / "Faces of Identity, Hands of Skill" Collection
Two audiocassettes of ethnic and folk music and dance in North Dakota, including German-Russian "Volkslieder" sung by John Gross, Jr.; Khmer dance music of Cambodia played and sung by Sokhom and Bun Sun You; Kurdish music played on the tambour (a form of lute) by Luqman Maii; "Metis" ("mixes") French/Chippewa/Cree fiddle tunes played by James la Rocque; and music played on the Sisseton Sioux "Siyo Tanka" flute by Bryan Akipa. Recorded in Bismark, Fargo, Napoleon, Sisseton, and Turtle Mountain Reservation, North Dakota, by Troyd Geist, 1994. The audiocassettes accompany a traveling exhibition entitled "Faces of Identity, Hands of Skill: Folk Arts in North Dakota," curated by the North Dakota Council of Arts and funded by the National Endowment for the Arts Folk Arts Program. The collection includes 27 pages of correspondence, lists, information on the exhibition, and a newsletter. (2 hours)

AFC 2001/003: Illinois Arts Council / Ethnic and Folk Arts Archive
One hundred and fifty-five audiocassettes, 26 7-inch tapes, 1 10-inch tape, 16 videotapes, ca. 1000+ color slides and prints, and 1 foot of manuscripts documenting Illinois folklife recorded 1980s-1990s. Includes a Cambodian folk ensemble.

AFC 2002/025: National Book Festival, American Folklife Center Storytelling Pavilion, October 12, 2002.
Three videocassettes featuring Roslyn Bresnick-Perry, Cambodian American Heritage, Peter Cook, Georgia Sea Island Singers, Waddie Mitchell, Chuna McIntyre, Antonio Sacre, Tom Weakley, Wild Zappers. One videotape is identified as having footage of First Lady Laura Bush and Mrs. Putin. The collection includes a program book from the festival.
