AFC 1968/008: Halim El-Dabh Collection of Music of Mali and Senegal, Africa
Seven 10-inch tapes of music of Mali and Senegal, Africa. Field recordings of dance music, rice cultivation songs, songs sung by Bambara, Kai, Peul, Sisoks, and Sonrai people; Ballet Africa; a marriage procession; Sonrai songs; natural sounds; Tamasheq speech; instrumental music; Tuareg performances; Tharef music; and other music and speech recorded by Halim el-Dabh in the summer of 1967 in Ségou, Bamako, and Tombouctou, Mali; and Dakar, Senegal. AFC 1972/011: Wayne Jackson / Music of Senegal
One 10-inch tape of 12 songs celebrating Senegalese culture recorded by Radio Senegal and presented to Wayne Jackson, 1960. (includes AFS 14,696). (1 hour and 30 minutes; LWO 6794)

AFC 1982/011: 1982 Neptune Plaza Concert Series Collection
The 1982 Neptune Plaza Concert Series Collection consists of manuscript and print materials, audio recordings, and graphic materials that document the 1982 concert series sponsored by the American Folklife Center. The annual series, which began in 1977, features the presentation of folk traditions from many cultures. The 1982 series was produced with the assistance of the National Council for the Traditional Arts. [catalog record] [finding aid]

The following desribes documentation from the Djimo Kouyate concert, August 19, 1982.

RWA 4143-4144: Two 10-inch tapes containing instrumental and vocal music performed with commentary, khalam, and kora by Djimo Kouyate, a Mandinka griot. Recorded in concert at the Library of Congress Neptune Plaza by Pete Reininger, August 19, 1982. (1 hour and 20 minutes)
