- June 7-10, 1892 The Republican National Convention held in Minneapolis, MN nominates incumbent president Benjamin Harrison for re-election. Whitelaw Reid is nominated for Vice President.
- June 21-23, 1892 The Democratic National Convention is held in Chicago, IL. Former president Grover Cleveland is nominated with Adlai Stevenson as his running mate.
- October 25, 1892 First lady Caroline Harrison dies after a long illness. The already subdued campaign becomes more so two weeks before the election.
- November 8, 1892 Grover Cleveland is elected, becoming the only person in US history to be elected to a second, non-consecutive presidential term.
