File Protective Refund Claims for NY MTA Tax

Nov. 2 is the deadline to file protective claims for the quarter ending Sept. 30, 2009. Recently, a Nassau County Supreme Court found the Metropolitan Commuter Transportation Mobility Tax to be unconstitutional. CPAs should advise clients that have filed affected returns to file protective refund claims.
