U.S. Department of Education Senior Official to Participate in Virtual School Symposium in New Orleans

Karen Cator, director of the Office of Educational Technology, will participate in the closing keynote panel at the Virtual School Symposium at 9 a.m. CT, on Wednesday, Oct. 24, in New Orleans. The panel, entitled, "Connecting the Dots: Transformative Trajectories," will discuss the key drivers for changing federal and state policy related to technology in education, and explore models of implementation and the elements most important for effectiveness, scaling and personalization.

The symposium is the annual conference hosted by the International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL). The conference focuses on K-12 education online and blended education, showcasing "next generation" learning environments and new school models. Conference attendees will include more than 2,000 educational leaders and experts exploring transformation through online and blended education.
