Senator Isakson Condemns Outrageous Attacks on U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., today issued the following statement in response to the attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that resulted in the death of four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya, J. Christopher Stevens.

“I strongly condemn the senseless and vicious attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that killed U.S. Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans. Ambassador Stevens represented his country proudly and worked tirelessly so that Libyans may one day realize the freedoms and liberties that we enjoy and cherish as Americans. This tragedy should remind us all of the service of American civilians who work every day to advance the principles of the United States throughout the world. My thoughts and prayers are with the families who are affected by this terrible tragedy.”
