Conrad Congratulates Argusville Woman On Being Named an ‘Angel in Adoption’

Linda Jaeger Honored For Lifelong Commitment to North Dakota’s Children

Washington – Senator Kent Conrad met today with Argusville-native Linda Jaeger, who is in Washington to be recognized as a 2012 Angel in Adoption for her outstanding advocacy of adoption and foster care issues in North Dakota.  Senator Conrad nominated Jaeger for the annual award honoring champions of the adoption process from across the country.

Senator Conrad said Jaeger was selected out of many worthy candidates.

“Linda has dedicated her career to helping children and building families through her work,” Senator Conrad said. “Children and their needs have always been the primary focus for Linda. She has a passion for children and families and anyone that knows her or talks to her, immediately sees that. Linda has a way of relating to people that makes each family and each child feel special. This recognition is just a small way for us to say ‘thanks’ for the years of work Linda has put in on behalf of North Dakota children.”

Linda is currently Regional Supervisor at Southeast Human Service Center in Fargo where she has worked since July of 2008.  Her work requires her to travel throughout the state educating nurses, school counselors, parish nurses, county social workers, and other professionals on infant adoption, current practice and ways to present adoption in a positive manner.

Before joining Southeast Human Services Center, Linda worked at Catholic Charities of North Dakota for almost 30 years. In Linda has also been an adjunct professor of social work at Concordia College since 2006 teaching such classes as basic interview, social policy, and child welfare.  From a volunteer perspective, Linda has been active in the North Dakota Conference of Social Welfare since 1978 and currently serves as the Nominations Chair.

Each year the Congressional Coalition on Adoption nominates “Angels in Adoption” from each state and honor the nominees at an event in Washington, D.C.
