The Minnesota Swarm were getting ready to play against the Edmonton Rush in the National Lacrosse League, when they ran into a serious problem; three of their coaches are Canadian citizens and didn’t yet have the correct visas to work in the United States, which meant that they wouldn’t be able to participate in the next game.
 
Because there are too few qualified professional lacrosse coaches in the United States, the owners of the Minnesota Swarm petitioned the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to  get the coaches the correct work visas. The coaches then applied for their visas under premium processing (which has a faster turnaround). But even under the accelerated process it didn’t look like they would be able to coach the Swarm’s next game.
 
That’s when the owners of the Swarm got in touch with Sen. Franken’s office to see if they could help with the coaches' applications. Sen. Franken and his staff reached out to the USCIS, and sure enough, they were able to work out the problem in the visa applications and get an expedited approval.

The Swarm are scheduled to play against Edmonton Rush on February 10th, and all the coaches will be there to help them win.
