- Today America joins together in recognizing those who have valiantly served our country in the Armed Forces. My deepest respect and appreciation goes to the brave men and women who have and continue to defend this great nation. As we honor these heroes we must never forget those who lost their lives while displaying courage and bravery so that we can live free. More than 300,000 veterans call Nevada home and I am grateful for the immeasurable sacrifices they have made on our behalf. The character and courage of our military men and women, past and present, is what has made our nation so great. Thank you for your service and everything you have given.
