Illustrating the Success of Health Care Reform Print Share

The Affordable Care Act is the landmark law making health insurance meaningful and affordable for millions more Americans.  Many provisions of the law have already gone into effect, but the law won't be fully implemented until 2014.  In this video, MIT economist Jon Gruber, whose work helped influence the law, explains how the health care reform law works, and why it includes an "individual mandate."

New Mexico has the second highest rate of uninsured individuals in the nation, and Senator Bingaman has been working for years to change that.  The Affordable Care Act has already removed barriers to insurance and provided assistance so tens of thousands of New Mexicans can access basic health insurance.
