WASHINGTON – Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement regarding the release by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee of sensitive information regarding U.S. diplomatic activities in Libya, including the names of Libyans working with U.S. officials:

“While I don’t see how Congessman Issa’s obvious attempts to make political hay out of this tragedy will succeed in advancing his partisan goals, what is clear is that the reckless release of the names of Libyans who have worked with us could jeopardize the lives of those individuals and damage U.S. interests.”
