Ordering an American Flag
Through Senator Murray’s office you can purchase an American flag that has been flown over the United States Capitol Building. With sufficient notice, we can even have your flag flown on a specific date to mark a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion.
NOTE: Due to the Ricin incident in the Dirksen Senate Office Building a few years ago, the opening and testing of all Senate mail is being done at an offsite facility. As a result, any letter you send to the Senate takes an extra 1-2 weeks to reach us. Also, having a flag flown now takes an additional week. Please keep this in mind when making your request.
Washington State Residents
I invite you to purchase an American flag through my office. The following flags are available:
- 3 x 5 ft Nylon or Cotton
- 4 x 6 ft Nylon only
- 5 x 8 ft Nylon or Cotton
For a small additional fee, the flag can be flown over the United States Capitol building in honor of a person and/or special occasion. With sufficient notice, you can request that your flag be flown on a specific date.
*Delivery usually takes 7 weeks after it is flown over the U.S. Capitol.*

Write a check or money order payable to "Keeper of the Stationery"

Mail both to the address on the form.
