Ayotte Testifies in Support of Clark Veterans Cemetery Legislation
U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) testified today before the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee in support of legislation she introduced aimed at restoring the Clark Veterans Cemetery, which is the final resting place in the Philippines for more than 8,300 American service members and their dependents. Mark Begich (D-AK), would require the U.S. to restore, operate and maintain Clark Veterans Cemetery to honor the courageous Americans buried there. Ayotte on MSNBC: Russia Must Stop Weapons Transfers to Assad Regime
"This news is deeply troubling. By transferring weapons to the Assad regime, Russia has been an accomplice to the murder of thousands of innocent civilians in Syria. For Russia to send attack helicopters to Assad would represent a serious escalation in the conflict and, tragically, would make it easier for the regime to kill civilians. Russia's reported move is particularly disturbing in light of today's UN report detailing the Assad regime's brutal and deplorable treatment of children.
