Panetta, Dempsey Discuss Alliances, Budget Issues

Congress is "on the clock” and has critical work to accomplish to avert sequestration when it returns to session following the Nov. 6 election, Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta said during a joint press briefing with Army Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, at the Pentagon, Oct. 25, 2012. Panetta and Dempsey also discussed defense alliances and the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
