Dear Fellow Coloradan,
Thank you for registering to receive updates on my efforts in the interest of Colorado water.
You may recall in my last newsletter I told you about a resolution I introduced recognizing 2012 as the "Year of Water" in Colorado and honoring a number of organizations that have helped educate the public on ways to protect and use Colorado's rivers and waterways. I am proud to report that the U.S. Senate unanimously approved my resolution this past Wednesday.
The "Year of Water" is a chance for Coloradans to engage in a productive conversation about the value of and future demands on our water. In that spirit, I hope you will take a moment to share why water is important to you and encourage your friends and relatives to do the same, as well as sign up for my updates on water-related issues:

I have been inspired by the broad array of responses I received so far. Below are two examples:
From Tim in Cañon City, Colorado:
"Colorado water is important to me as a source for recreation, drinking, irrigation and beauty. Cleaning up contaminated water should be a very important step to maintain good health." Read more.
From Richard in Meeker, Colorado:
"Our livelihood depends on Colorado water. We depend on Colorado water for our livestock and crops. Without the adjudicated water we could not raise the hay that is a vital part of our business." Read more.
As many have said, water is indeed the lifeblood of Colorado. While individual reasons for preserving our water vary, we all depend on the sustainable use of this limited resource. I am committed to bringing Coloradans together by promoting the conversation about sustainable water use. We must preserve this natural resource for generations to come.
