The nation'sannual celebration of reading and books takes place in Washington, DC at the Library of Congress National Book Festival. Book lovers of all ages come together to hear presentations from their favorite authors and illustrators, get their books signed, and take part in fun activities. Scouts can get the new Library of Congress National Book Festival patch to proudly show off their attendance at this exciting educational event in the nation's capital.

The 2012 Library of Congress National Book Festival will be held on the National Mall between 9th and 14th Streets on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Sunday, Sept. 23 from noon to 5:30 p.m., rain or shine. The event is free and open to the public. www.loc.gov/bookfest
