Mrs. Murkowski/Mr. Begich/Mr. Young, For ease of saying what needs to be said to all the politicians who represent AK in DC: I still see no change in DC and the career politicians that are running this country into the ground. Politicians as yourselves. You sit in DC sucking down taxpayer dollars seldom doing anything to EARN your pay. Our economy is in the dumps and you still pull in a six figure salary. You are more worried about what people are doing in their bedroom than fixing this country! Your peer Mr. Akin and two more politicians mentioned rape and abortion and caused themselves a potential to serve this country. I pay attention to what is going on and am a registered Republican because that is the way I was raised. I despise welfare. I despise career politicians, who give lip service during the campaign and then go back to business as normal. Most of the politicians in DC need to pack up their stuff and go home. Stop giving us lip service gentlemen and start getting a budget we can afford. Stop traveling all over the place and lock yourselves on the floor and WORK on the issues at hand. Stop voting yourself raises! Use the same health care that normal people use. Get your heads out of your backsides. The frustration of another four years of Barack Obama is due to the Republican party being stagnant and not being willing to embrace that the world has changed. I may not agree with everything that is going on in this Country or the world, but, I demand that you and your peers get off your butts and get this country going in the right direction. Start by evicting the UN from US soil and stop paying countries that support terrorism. Stop calling "aid" anything more than a handout. Take care of our country before everyone else's. The entitlements that our government calls welfare is atrocious, the Democrat party has repeatedly BOUGHT votes. FDR started it and it continues today. Mr. Young, I voted for you because you are Republican. I will vote straight party ticket because I refuse to give my approval for the Democrat mentallity of entitlements. I have worked since the time I could follow my Grandfather. I have learned the value of a dollar and hard work. You appreciate it more when you EARN it. You appreciate the caloused hands of a hard working man or woman. I can appreciate to an extent the job you have been hired for through a sharp mind and education at the same time. The office job isn't for everyone. Mr. Begich, I will never vote for you on principal. The principal of welfare is a virus and a cancer. You fall in line with welfare and not a help up. You should be ashamed of yourself for voting your party lines when it affects the state of Alaska in relationship to jobs. Open up ANWR, get the oil and gas flowing. Stop the environmental hype and look at the data that is there. You know for a fact that the impact on the environment has been mental in 30 plus years of the Pipeline. We have made technological advances since then as well. As you are both career politicians, I don't expect yourselves to legislate any referendum on yourselves. However, you should stop and look at what the problems in DC are and how it affects the Nation. Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Lisa Murkowski, Don Young, Ted Stevens, just a few examples of the people that have made a career off of the DC lifestyle. Living off the taxpayer. I wish that you would get the paycheck of a Soldier, Airman, Marine or Sailor just once. You should not be making a six figure salary in your first year of employment. The career politician has lost touch with reallity. The career politician is a leech. The career politician needs to step back and look at what the decisions mean to the real person, regardless of whether they are blue collar, white collar, lower class, or upper class. Stop the foolishness and work together!!!!!!!!!! Cross party lines!!! Make some comprimises!!!

Now, with the eminent danger behind us, it's time to start telling Obama we want more action from him! He's got less than four years to help pass laws that: -create more renewable energy. -acknowledge global warming and work toward reduction of greenhouse gases(pollution)(hello, Hurricane Sandy!). -strengthen the Affordable Health Care law to bring the USA into an equal position with the rest of the world's major economies in assuring that ALL citizens have excellent healthcare. -work for economic equality for the poor and lower middle classes. He should be verbally supporting groups like Habitat for Humanity in getting fair housing for all and the Occupy movement which seeks all types of gender and class equality. He should work for dollar support through continued strong funding of public schools and INCREASED funding to make college affordable for all who want it. He should let the rich and the ultra rich know they are no more important than anyone else and they need to face up to their responsibilities as citizens and pay their fair share of taxes. Well, those things will keep us busy for awhile.

  24. It's great to see more renewable energy projects coming online across Alaska, especially in Fairbanks where costs are so high. I sent a letter this week to the USDA seeking help with a natural-gas distribution network to get North Slope natural gas that is trucked to Fairbanks distributed to homes and businesses. This problem needs to be attacked on multiple fronts.
