Features Of The Senate Judiciary Committee Website

The Senate Judiciary Committee website contains information about the Committee's activities, including information about hearings, legislation, and nominations.  The navigation bar at the top of each page provides links to the main sections of the website.

Judiciary Committee hearings and executive business meetings are available online dating back to October 2001, and each hearing notice includes witness testimony, member statements, and webcasts.  The "Hearings" tab at the top of each page gives users the option of searching for hearings and executive business meetings separately, or together.  Hearings may be searched by week, month, session, or Congress.  Results from the Committee's executive business meetings are posted on the Judiciary Committee homepage immediately following the conclusion of each meeting, and an archive of past results is maintained in the "Legislation" section of the website.

The "Nominations" section of the Committee website allows users to access information about both judicial and executive nominations considered by the Committee.  The section on executive nominations includes a list of all nominations that are referred to the Judiciary Committee.  Information about individual nominees, including questionnaires, letters of support, and links to hearings can be found by clicking on individual names.  The judicial nominations section includes a summary of the judicial nomination process, judicial confirmations, and judicial nominations materials.  Materials include Committee questionnaires, the American Bar Association rating, and links to nominations hearings.

General information about the Judiciary Committee, including biographies of current members, subcommittees, Committee history, rules, and jurisdiction can be found under the "About the Committee" tab in the navigation bar.  The current Committee membership, along with a list of all Judiciary Committee members since the 14th Congress, can also be accessed online.

Information about how to attend Committee hearings, the use of photography during hearings, and general information about the Judiciary Committee is addressed under Frequently Asked Questions.

The front page of the Committee website includes updated information including hearings and executive business meetings being held during the current week.
