JEC Hearing on the Impact of Infrastructure on the Manufacturing Sector

Washington, D.C. - The Joint Economic Committee, Chaired by Senator Bob Casey, will hold a hearing entitled, “Manufacturing in the USA:  Paving the Road to Job Creation,” on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., in room 216 of the Hart Senate Office Building.
 
The hearing will look at the potential positive impact of infrastructure investment on job creation, particularly in the manufacturing sector, and will consider a variety of proposals to enhance and improve the current transportation system. At this hearing, the Committee will examine the interplay between an effective transportation infrastructure and economic growth. Transportation infrastructure is especially important to the manufacturing sector, which relies on various modes of transportation to obtain raw materials and to transport end products to the marketplace.
