Grassley Receives Health Care Leadership Award

WASHINGTON – Chuck Grassley recently received the American Chiropractic Association’s 2010 Health Care Leadership Award.  Throughout his time in the Senate, Grassley has worked to ensure Americans have access to proper health care, including chiropractic care.

“Chiropractors provide valuable treatments to many Americans and we’ve worked hard to ensure chiropractors have a place in our health care system.  I’m honored to receive this award,” Grassley said.

The American Chiropractic Association recognized Grassley for his continued support of chiropractic services.  Grassley was the original sponsor of the Medicare chiropractic demonstration project, which temporarily gave Medicare Part B beneficiaries access to chiropractic care.  This project was tremendously successful and Grassley continues to advocate for its permanent enactment.  Grassley has also supported efforts that will ensure Congress doesn’t undermine state laws which allow residents greater access to chiropractic care.  Additionally, Grassley co-sponsored the Chiropractic Care Available to All Veterans Act of 2009, which will greatly increase veterans’ access to quality chiropractic care.
