WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) released the following statement today regarding the U.S. Department of Labor’s most recent jobs report, which showed the nation's unemployment rate rising to 7.9 percent in October 2012:

“We're facing a historic moment in America when we are going to decide who we're going to be as a nation. Unfortunately, for almost four years, we've sustained stagnant job creation, rising energy prices, and record federal debt under the Obama Economy.

“The status quo isn't working, and families and job creators in Missouri and across America deserve better. As these jobs numbers continue to demonstrate, we need leaders in Washington to work together to pass pro-growth policies that create more opportunity for the middle class and more certainty for small businesses nationwide.”
