(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) released the following statement on the 10th Anniversary of the tragic death of U.S. Senator Paul Wellstone, his wife Sheila, his daughter Marcia, and staff members Mary McEvoy, Tom Lapic, and Will McLaughlin.

“I will always miss my friend Paul. And while today is a reminder of that painful day a decade ago, it is much more about celebrating the legacy of a man whose passion and mission endure. Paul dedicated his life to changing the lives of those who had no one else to speak for them. And today, his efforts continue with his foundation, the work of his friends and colleagues, and the belief that the little guy can have a big voice when organized and empowered. Paul, his family, and all those lost ten years ago will remain in my thoughts and prayers. I continue to be inspired by the life and work of Paul Wellstone every single day.”
