Purpose: This funding will provide for the
completion of the Environmental Impact Statement and design for the
Interstate 5 Columbia River Crossing project.
Importance: Completion of the Environmental Impact
Statement and design of the I-5 Columbia River Crossing project will
expedite a much needed transportation solution that, once completed,
will reduce traffic congestion, improve freight movement, and increase
safety on I-5.

Project Title: Mercer Street Corridor Project -
WA
Recipient: City of Seattle
Amount: $50,000,000
Location: Seattle, WA
Purpose: This funding will support the
construction of multi-modal improvements on Mercer Street between
Interstate 5 and Dexter Avenue, including street widening, new sidewalk
and other pedestrian safety improvements.
Importance: This project would significantly ease
one of Seattle's most congested corridors, streamlining freight
movement to and from Interbay, keeping vehicle flow steady and
increasing pedestrian and bicycle safety.

Project Title: US 12 Corridor Improvements:
Burbank to Walla Walla - WA
Recipient: Washington State Department of
Transportation
Amount: $24,000,000
Location: Walla Walla, WA
Purpose: This funding will provide for the
construction of two additional lanes along US Highway 12 between Burbank
and Walla Walla, WA.
Importance: The expansion of US 12 from a two to
four lane highway will significantly increase vehicle safety and expand
freight mobility, enhancing the capacity of existing businesses and
encouraging further economic development in the region.

Project Title: US 395 North Spokane Corridor
Project - WA
Recipient: Washington State Department of
Transportation
Amount: $40,000,000
Location: Spokane, WA
Purpose: This funding will provide for the
design, right-of-way acquisition and initial construction of a highway
corridor connection through metropolitan Spokane to Interstate 90.
Importance: This project will reduce local
congestion, increase freight mobility to accommodate the 7.2 million
tons of freight moving through the corridor, provide for non-motorized
safety improvements with dedicated pedestrian paths and transit
park-and-ride centers, and enhance economic development to adjacent
business and residential districts.
