Senator Bernie Sanders, chairman of the Green Jobs and New Economy Subcommittee of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, chaired a hearing on clean energy jobs and economic growth. The governors of Colorado, Washington, New Jersey and North Dakota, three city mayors and one state legislator will testify at the hearing. This is his opening statement in full.
