Landrieu: SCORE Represents the Best of Entrepreneurial Spirit

Senator congratulates 2011 SCORE Winners and thanks SCORE volunteers at annual SCORE dinner.

WASHINGTON – Chair of the United States Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship Senator Mary L. Landrieu, D-La., congratulated SCORE winners and thanked SCORE for their support in the small business community at the annual SCORE Awards Dinner.

“I would like to extend my congratulations to all the 2011 SCORE winners and send my deepest gratitude to the members of this outstanding and instrumental public-private partnership,” Senator Landrieu. “Utilizing the skills and know-how of the more than 13,000 committed individuals and professionals across industries, SCORE represents the absolute best of America’s entrepreneurial spirit. Thanks to their commitment and guidance SCORE helped create over 58,000 new businesses and more than 71,000 new jobs in 2010 alone. SCORE volunteers do not just serve as small business counselors; they are leaders in their communities and are helping to focus this country’s entrepreneurial spirit into actual and concrete economic growth, and at a time when it is needed the most. ”
