Mr. Tom Udall, from the State of New Mexico, called the
Senate to order at 9:30 a.m., the Reverend James E. Smith, Senior Pastor
of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Pioneer, Louisiana, offered a
prayer, and Mr. Udall led the Senate in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance
to the Flag of the United States of America.
