Mr. Tom Udall, from the State of New Mexico, called the Senate to order at 9:30 a.m., the Reverend Joel Osteen, Senior Pastor of Lakewood Church, Houston, Texas, offered a prayer, and Mr. Udall led the Senate in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.
