Senator Landrieu Kicks Off National Small Business Week

Senator Mary Landrieu, Chair of the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship (SBC), took to the Senate floor yesterday to kick off National Small Business Week.

Senator Landrieu heralded the nearly 28 million small businesses for representing 99.7% of employer firms and creating 2 out of every 3 new jobs in America. As Senator Landrieu put it, “They are the net new job creators. These are the businesses that are going to be putting this recession behind us.”

Senator Landrieu noted that she is working hard to improve the ecosystem of entrepreneurship, by introducing bills this week that will increase access to: capital, entrepreneurial development, and contracts. She went on to explain that she, “wants to help them [small businesses] in every way that we can in our Committee here in Washington, throughout our states, counties and cities to be the partner that they can rely on to get the job done.”
