This means that more than 2,700 grade 2 braille books are available for distribution through the Internet. The books can be downloaded or they can be read online by individuals and organizations with appropriate braille displays, embossers, or other braille-aware devices. Access is limited to eligible users who are residents of the United States or American citizens living abroad. To access Web-Braille materials, the reader must have an e-mail address and access to the Internet. Users will also need an ID and password that is received by registering with the network library designated to maintain braille magazine subscriptions in the reader's area. The online version of Braille Book Review (BBR) will contain active links to Web-Braille files for books listed in BBR. This means that a Web-Braille patron will be able to browse through BBR, locate a title of interest, and select a volume. After inputting a valid user ID and password, the patron will be presented with the selected volume and may read it online or download it. More information is available from cooperating network libraries and on the NLS web site. The Web-Braille site is www.loc.gov/nls/braille/ New Magazine NLS has resumed production of recordings of the Writer, beginning with the October 1999 issue. The audio cassette version of the Writer is available for subscribers through the NLS magazine recording program. The magazine Working Woman will no longer be included in the NLS magazine program. Subscribers to Working Woman will be notified of its removal from the NLS magazine program by mail. New Version of Web-BLND The revised online NLS Union Catalog, Web-BLND, is available through the Web-BLND link on the NLS home page (http://lcweb.loc.gov/nls).
