Advanced Printing Technology Assessment

GPO is actively working on a project to assess industry capabilities and identify the emerging print technology that is best suited for GPO's production requirements. The project, called Advanced Printing Technology Assessment (APTA), is envisioned as a print solution that incorporates modern printing techniques and will enhance GPO's capabilities while improving overall efficiency.

The proposed print solution will provide cost-effective solutions to short and medium-run jobs while reducing production paper waste and increasing utilization. The solution will meet the production windows required for GPO's core products and will integrate with current industry binding equipment and processes. It will offer high-speed, high-volume printing and will include flexible multi-solution capabilities including Print on Demand and Variable Data Printing.

Key Documents
The APTA ConOps: Describes the desired characteristics of the proposed printing technology solution from the user's viewpoint.

Additional Information
GPO has issued a Request for Information (RFI) in order to assess program documentation as well as to understand the capabilities of vendors. The RFI and all applicable instructions are available at the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov). The RFI can be found by utilizing the 'Quick Search' feature and searching for APTA.
