1889 Benjamin Harrison

Benjamin Harrison’s inaugural marked the 100th anniversary of George Washington’s first inauguration.  Twelve thousand people attended inaugural balls in Washington, and the celebration in New York City–the site of George Washington's 1789 inauguration–lasted for weeks.
