Help for Haiti: Learn What You Can Do

On January 12, 2010, Haiti was struck by the most violent earthquake in a century. The earthquake caused massive damage inside and around the capital city of Port-au-Prince.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has the lead Federal responsibility to provide notification of earthquakes in order to enhance public safety and to reduce losses through effective forecasts based on the best possible scientific information.

Visit WhiteHouse.gov to learn more about how you can help victims of the Haiti earthquake, get information about friends or family members in Haiti, and find out how other federal agencies are responding to the crisis.
