Inauguration Ticket Requests

President Obama's Inauguration will take place at noon on Monday, January 21, 2013, on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol. My office will take requests for tickets to the swearing-in ceremony from Michigan residents.

USS Detroit Keel-laying Ceremony

At the "laying of the keel" ceremony for the USS Detroit, Barbara Levin's initials are welded into a plaque that will become part of the ship's hull. "I am very proud to serve as the sponsor of this powerful ship, which honors my native city," she said.

20th Anniversary of Keweenaw National Historical Park

Twenty years ago, Sen. Levin sponsored legislation that created Keweenaw National Historical Park. This park is a gem that celebrates the story of a mineral - copper - and the communities that sprung up here because of the area's mineral riches.

Upper Peninsula Events

Sen. Levin spent several days in the U.P. visiting students in Gladstone and Escanaba, speaking to the Delta County Chamber of Commerce, touring important environmental protection projects, and celebrating the 20th anniversary of Keweenaw National Historical Park.

Today in the Senate

December 4, 2012:

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session with the time until 12:00 p.m. equally divided and controlled between Senators Kerry and Lugar or their designees.

At 12:00 p.m., the Senate will conduct a roll call vote on the Resolution of Advise and Consent to Ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Following the vote, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.

All time during adjournment, morning business, Executive Session, and recess will count post-cloture on S. 3254, the National Defense Authorization Act.

Additional votes in relation to the Defense bill are expected.
