WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Olympia J. Snowe released the following statement today on Hurricane Sandy:

"I urge Mainers to take appropriate precautions in anticipation of Hurricane Sandy, including stocking up on ample bottled water and nonperishable food items, as well as having batteries and flashlights and fully charging cell phones in case of power outages. I, and staff in my office, will remain in contact with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Governor LePage, and state and local officials in the coming days as they assess the ever-changing situation. Most importantly, I hope Mainers will stay safe, check on their neighbors, and stay off the roads during the height of the storm."
