Wow I love it. July 1936 is the calendar date. Just month before my mom and dad met.

Packaged and loose goods are stacked on shelves and the floor. Items visible on the walls include a calendar showing "July 1936" and a Coca-Cola advertisement. Visible items for sale include loose dishes, lanterns, dustpans, rope, padlocks, boxed soaps, boxes of shot-gun shells, Mason jars, canned goods, bags of self-rising flour. Rolls of butcher-paper visible at left. A safe is at center, partially behind bags of flour.

And don't forget the shotgun shells. There are boxes and boxes of them.

Amazing. Coca Cola is still branded the same way..totally recognizable in 2009.

I'd love to have a couple of those lanterns.

PBS has a POV film telling about how these pictures came to be. It was broadcast on the Houston channel 8-10-09. Not sure if you can watch it online but well worth seeing if you can find it.
