      The New York Times Current History: The European war, Volume 4, 1915
      books.google.com/books?id=DLjBshFw3ZIC&pg =PA953&l...
      indicates that these two "inaugurated" the big strike at the Remington Works in July 1915.

      It is hard to work out whether it should be Johnson or Johnston. This NYT History volume uses the "t."
